FFmpeg is a C library for manipulating video data on desktop devices.
Using the Emscripten C/C++ to JavaScript compiler, this library is converted to JavaScript and used to manipulate video files via JavaScript code, in the user's browser or on a server via RhinoJS or Node.js.
Developers can use it to:
- a apply various filters and effects to a video file
- convert videos from one format to another
- convert a video to GIF
- make screenshots of the video
- overlay content on the video
